Wheatley’s had a brewery in Napier Street, , I think before 1920.They then merged with another company, I think Bates, and traded from the same address.

NICE FIND.

Thanks for that, I read somehwere that wheatley merged with bates in 1895. How true that is I'm not sure.

There are other ashtrays with three cigarette holders around the perimeter which also display both wheatley and bates. I'm presuming this pre dates that type.

Napier Street is where I've got them based too.

click a link below please, shows offenders images, see if you can spot anyone who may have tried to reinvent themself as someone else near you, putting those around you in danger as long as they are unknown, could be closer to you than you think, these type of people dont disclose, they do whatever they can to hide their past, but they are still the same, you could change someones life.

Don't recall the details or have any pics, but many years ago myself & digging partner recovered two 2-tone champagne shaped GBs from a Banbury tip that were something like Hop Bitters, Wheatley & Co Sheffield, with that same pictorial TM, but also the name of some Bristol firm (I'm not talking about the potters mark, this was part of the main transfer). Nice looking bottles, I think we got a pretty good whack for them on Fleabay. Tony:)

WANTED: BANBURY ITEMS
glassware, stoneware, flagons, potlids -why?
I'll guarantee to beat ANYBODY'S price for quality items I need for my collection
PLEASE P.M. ME WITH DETAILS ;)

Thanks for all the comments guys. I've concluded that this ashtray is relatively scarce unlike the wheatley and bates ones.Hoping to unearth some other equally fascinating items in due course.
