Sometimes when I see a nice pictorial Tap Jar, I get the insane urge to somehow smuggle it past my beloved and place it with the other illegal immigrants that lurk on my Patio, but as you get older you get more careless:D! So I lumped this 2 gallon jobbie up the stairs got as far as the Patio door looked out and it was chucking it down, O.K. leave it there until it eases off, mistake!!Beloved has a sixth sense when it comes to Tap Jars she will zoom in like an errant wasp until she locates the target," I bought it for resale" I quickly spluttered "good" she barked " MMM, it has got damage to the lip, how much did you pay for it" £5 I lied, now after 40 years of marriage how did I think I could get away with that, so there it sits, a reminder not to deceive, after all I know she will get used to it;)!http://www.bottledigging.org.uk/forum/Uploads/Images/ccd59898-a140-47bc-9b63-79cb.JPG

Francien still hasn't come 'round to the idea that these artefacts embellish and enhance the character of the modern home then, Cyril? It's not a small apartment is it, plenty of room for a little harmless flagon here and there... the vestas and twist boxes don't take up much room after all. We had a browse at your stall at the Pumping Station last weekend, were hoping to see you at that time of the morning, but alas it wasn't to be. Next time! :)

All the best,

Cheers both of you, let the dust settle, and I will sneak it out and hide it behind the garden box, she never thinks of looking there;)!I have her full support on all my little foibles, but when it goes over the 2 gallon size I am met with the unreasoning attitude of the fairer sex:D!
She puts up with me waxing lyrical over vesta cases, twist box,s, and even the odd pub mirror, the secret additions to my local bottle collection, and my pub jug collection. The odd banjo that appears is treated with a haughty disdain, and then a reluctant thank you, when I restore it and sell it on, and split the proceeds with her:).
But then it takes two to tango and I would not want it any different, and it keeps me sharp, even if I suspect she is aware of my cunning plans:Whistling:!
