I've been after this later Hansard's variation for a number of years and a month ago, I came across it on an American ebay site, listed under 'Bitters'.

I won the auction for a very reasonable price and a month later it has arrived back in Britain.

It was made in Bristol, travelled to Swansea or Llanelly where it was sold and somehow ended up in Cincinatti in America. So in it's one hundred years, it has travelled the best part of 8000 miles and is still in extremely good condition.

Great gbs there, really great photo, more surprising for that to survive above ground for that length of time than below ground, I've got loads of variants and a few half dozen identical c.jones twickenham bottles, (we dug), no interest to sell any of the identical ones or any of them at all, in a way it's sort of getting closer to the filler when your surrounding yourself with their bottles, somehow if you replicate what they saw so you can see it the same way, you might be able to know all the other things in their mind, I don't know, something like that,

click a link below please, shows offenders images, see if you can spot anyone who may have tried to reinvent themself as someone else near you, putting those around you in danger as long as they are unknown, could be closer to you than you think, these type of people dont disclose, they do whatever they can to hide their past, but they are still the same, you could change someones life.

That's one of the harder Handsards champagne's to find Andy and Nat also repatriated her's from across the 'Pond'. I'm not sure what pottery its from as Nats is not stamped, but she also bought the vary rare Price Bristol cork top from the USA too (2nd left).

I have a theory that these gingers must have been part of the refreshment room stock on a Transatlantic steamer sailing the UK to New York route, but I cant confirm it (yet). There has to be some expaination for it.

Excuse the crap photo

Cheers Shaun, I saved the link butty:cool:. I wonder if Andy/Betts is related to William Penn?; hell, it could be the same guy as Andy is getting on a bit!

Today's historians acknowledge that the Welsh were in America before Columbus; not many people know that one, but its true!:) The early American Presidents were of Welsh heritage like John Adams(Pembrokeshire farmer)and others. Jefferson Davies was the Confederate President during the 1860-1865 civil war and was from North Wales.

Even the film ' The Outlaw Josie Wales' was based on a real character from the deep south. I wonder if he drank Hansards Hop Bitters?
