Here is a superb pictorial Shaws patent codd, from Albert Shaw Quarry bank who invented this patent in 1907 as for sale on ebay, one of the few examples of a codd patent with the firm of the inventor, cheers Steve

As codds go, it has plenty to look at, a decent pictorial and the patent on the back; nice.:) Many a Victorian or Edwardian picked glass from their faces when the codd occasionally exploded, so the Shaw's ribs were a good improvement to the codd. The Buckley's Brewery of Llanelly used them up until the 1930's.

Cheers Poacher, Albert Shaw had several versions of this patent, the swirls is the standard one, but others exist, there is a jumbo version as well but not pictorial.

Albert Shaws patent codd from quarry bank is harder to get these days as most of the local tips have dried up.

He also did a ginger a beer which is mega rare.

Cheers Steve
