Just got myself a bit on an odd Codd, Snowdrop Manchester, it has fluted base and reinforcing ring on the lip. I paid 99p plus postage on Ebay so I assume it is common enough, I like it all the same:)

Reasonably common, but still a nice codd.

Think there is a Liverpool version of it?

Sure is...John Lyon originated in Liverpool before opening a branch in Birkenhead - and then Manchester. Lots of bottles and advertising from this company. Lyons took over Merchants of Southport who used fluted bottles so I guess that gave them the idea. A good friend has an example with Lyons details acid-etched to the rear of the embossed Southport beer.
