One of my favourite early stoneware bottles, small size 'Flint's Friendly Oils Buxton', with 'Burton's Codnor Park Superior Ware EX' pottery mark. Decimus Flint traded from his chemist shop in Market Pace Buxton Derbyshire. It dates to c.1821- c.1834, the EX mark was used from 1817-1834. My father's side of the family all came from the area, many happy memories of visiting my nan who lived in South Normanton.

Wanted --- any unusual items from Kent & the South East, including advertising, early stoneware, & bottles (of course!).  Also rare patent poisons, early pontilled medicines, & rare burst lip/teakettle inks.

It's a truly superb bottle - if I recall correctly I remember you buying it from a US seller on ebay over 10 years ago? I think an example is also featured in Derek Askey's stoneware book. The pottery mark really adds to these early containers. Brilliant photos as usual.

Yes, you've got a great memory ! I believe the large size pictured in Askey's is in a museum.
