Hello everyone

For my first topic on this bottle forum I show you a wonderful find from a few weeks ago
found in a landfill due to construction work on a building here in the region of Zottegem (Belgium) where I live.

I'v been for a week done researches on the internet and discovered that this would be no ordinary find, not even for you where the bottle actually comes from.

Found only a newspaper artical from 1883 (on page 29)http://www.kwakzalverij.nl/assets/pdf-archief/kwakzalverij_1883.pdf

where the name " The new london royal hair restorerer of Dr Salp lotion" described as a dangerous product
because researchers have discovered that there is lead in this fluid and therefore this was a danger to public health.

dimensions height 14,5cm and outside diameter 5cm.

It was not uncommon for dangerous additives to be in everyday cures, or just straightforward dangerous substances to be marketed as medicines, we are very used to hearing medications of around 1900 were lethal, and over time as science evolved they found out the ingredients and shut them down,

Anyone interested, i highly reccommend the below link, this will show you what the UK are used to hearing our ancestors called medicine,

http://www.bestmedicaldegrees.com/10-dangerous-drugs-once-marketed-as-medicine/

click a link below please, shows offenders images, see if you can spot anyone who may have tried to reinvent themself as someone else near you, putting those around you in danger as long as they are unknown, could be closer to you than you think, these type of people dont disclose, they do whatever they can to hide their past, but they are still the same, you could change someones life.

I've always kept the odd hair cure as they are nearly always made in superb colours and make a great back-lit display. I cant say that I would be too happy about putting dangerous chemicals on my head though; hence the bald Victorians, I guess:D

Its a great bottle though
