I reckon Paul made a bit of a mistake there --- looks like it's a fairground range or shooting gallery ball, sold it cheap !

Wanted --- any unusual items from Kent & the South East, including advertising, early stoneware, & bottles (of course!).  Also rare patent poisons, early pontilled medicines, & rare burst lip/teakettle inks.

A scarce item, but it is really an ink ? Doesn't seem a sensible shape for an ink bottle. (John beat me by 14 seconds !)

Yes, indeed a range ball (range balls are smaller than target balls and were sat on pegs to be shot at in the fairground, as opposed to target balls that were launced into the air). Fairly plain and uninteresting aqua example, but undoubtedly £50+ :)

WANTED: BANBURY ITEMS
glassware, stoneware, flagons, potlids -why?
I'll guarantee to beat ANYBODY'S price for quality items I need for my collection
PLEASE P.M. ME WITH DETAILS ;)

Not listed on the target ball & range ball site, the best buyers are Americans who can pay good money for ones not seen before. Here's an old picture of the shooting gallery at Rosherville Gardens, using bottles instead of purpose-made balls (!)

its a machine oil bottle, plenty of variations of these in the north, you would need good eyesight to hit a 44mm target ball

I'm sticking with range ball. Not a target ball. 44mm is plenty big enough when it's just sat there as in Bulbous' picture and you're only 8ft away ;)

its more like 33mm without the neck, just over an inch, people can think what they like, but it is a machine oil bottle, some have it actually wrote on them
