Thanks 'boteldog' - we are working on completing as much as possible this year so fingers crossed! We've stepped up 'visits' and hope we can cover many of the outstanding examples at future shows. Anyone with anything to contribute please let me know. Three more sections going off to the designer tomorrow (Cornwall, Leics & Bucks)...

Thanks, Bob

Sounds fabulous.

Cheers for everybodys hard work researching and photographing so many lids.

I look forward to the finished result.

Always interested in Irish Gingers/Stouts/Codds

Also anything from Clitheroe Lancashire.  Especially the S.Speak ginger.  Greyhound pictorial.

Hi all - time for another update...we've now sent 20 sections / regions to the designer and we are close to completing many more. We've now surpassed 6,500 images but we are still capturing a few 'new' examples at virtually every bottle show so please keep them coming.

I guess the key question is "when will it be ready"? Well - we would like to think it will be largely complete by summer next year...this is only ever going to be produced once so it has to be as comprehensive as possible with as much relevant research in support as well. The finished sections do look great and I'm happy to show these to anyone who wants to see them...

The 'camera' will be at next week's Surrey show...Berkhamsted, Alton and Kidlington so if you can bring anything along please do so!

I'll post a few more sample pages/sections over the next few weeks...

Regards

Bob

Just to say, we now have 6,579 images (although quite a few promised for Alton - many thanks, which will move us closer to 6,600.) I'm really keen to break the 7,000 mark so please kep them coming.

As mentioned, the designer now has 20 counties / sections...with another 5 (Lincs / Surrey / Suffolk / Greater Manchester / Manchester) ready to go.

If you can bring anything else to Alton that woul be great.

Thanks again, Bob

During the late 80's i dug a blue bears grease on the SA1 development in Swansea. The tip dated up to 1870 and was damn sparse but Pratt lids and rickets wines were coming off there. Anyway, this lid was early and had 'By appointment to the Queen' and underneath ' & to the late King William IV',or similar .  I would be very interested to see if this one is in your book, as I will recognise it if i see it. I got £50 for it on the tip, so i guess its was worth more, even then.

Nelson, Treharris, Merthyr, Dowlais and Hansards bottles wanted, best prices paid
